German Class

On Tuesday night, November 29, it was Keith and my 14 year anniversary.  We celebrated by going to our first German class that our ward has organized for all us Americans.  Our teacher is great, but my language skills are pretty bad.  Keith is doing really well - I'd say a 4 on a 10 scale.  Kelly is a 9+, Josh is a 7+, and I am a 1-.

The rest of the week was uneventful.  Saturday we went to a Christmas Festival in Worb and on Sunday we went to the Kambly Cookie Company after church which was a beautiful train ride and included all the cookies you could eat.

Wednesday we were out of food and since the kids don't have school in the afternoon I convinced them to go to the market with me.  We went to the Aldi which is further away, but less expensive.  It was cold and raining, but we were hungry.  We walked in the rain to the tram, took the tram to another stop, waited again for a bus, then took the bus to the stop closest to the store.  On the way home Kelly is pulling the cart and Josh and I each have two heavy bags that we carried through the rain for the same two stop trip home.  By the time we made it up the five flights of stairs, cold and wet, I was thinking how much more I will appreciate my car when I get home.

  1. Thanks for your comment earlier. I always love to see a message from you in my inbox. And I always love to see that you posted too! Thanks for the updates. What a grocery adventure! You need a car. Would it not be worth it to have a car...even if just for grocery store runs? Do many people live without cars there? I take so much for granted. I love and miss you. Way to go on the German everyone! Dru, you know way more than you think, I bet :)
