Moving Day

Reality set in this afternoon when I was standing in the grocery store trying to buy milk.  I had no idea what I was doing or what I should look for.  Since I had bought lotion that I thought was conditioner for my hair earlier , I knew there was a lot of room for mistakes.  The milk said Drink, some was in the refrigerated section, some were not.  All the information was in German.

We moved into our temporary housing this morning and it is spectacular.  The area is close to many Embassys, which is an incredibly nice area.  The flat is on the ground floor which walks out to this beautiful garden and then a huge common area beyond that.  The bedrooms and living room are nice size, the bathroom and kitchen are tiny.  But the patio and gardens make up for any imperfections, that is except one.  The beds are pretty much just matts on the floor and I had a difficult time sleeping.

There are so many children around.   I got home last night around ten after going to IKEA with my friend Monique and her husband, Keith said the kids had just come in and had been in the common area with at lest ten or more kids playing kick ball.  Kelly said they were all trying to teach each other words in German and English.  I will have to enjoy every day of this month we have to live here.  We will never be able to find a place like this, in fact there are never rentals in this area.  The place we are living is only available because the owners are headed to Sweden for a month.

  2. How I would love to sit on the porch and have cereal for breakfast at your cute little flat. It looks so green and beautiful. I hope you can make the beds a little more comfy. The place looks great! Lucky you!

Can't wait to see where you end up living. How is the yogurt there?? Is it as good as in France? Miss you and think of you every time I go to Red Mango. xoxoxo
